Week 9: Letter G Activities

Week 9 of our Letter of the Week preschool curriculum focuses on the letter G and the number six. In Week 9, your child will also learn about gardening and more.

Letter G Activities: Day 1

  • Watch Girls and Boys Come Out to Play. Encourage your child to sing along.
  • Learn about the letter G on Starfall. On each screen of this interactive activity, your child will need to click the letter G, wait for the animation to play, or complete the activity to get the green arrow to appear. Then, he/she will click the green arrow to go to the next screen.
  • Show your child how to write an upper and lowercase G, and have him complete the worksheet on page 41 of the workbook.
  • Read The Ant and the Grasshopper beginning on page 54 of The Fables of Aesop.
  • Optional: Choose an activity, a recipe to prepare together, or a snack from the list of additional activities near the end of this page.

Letter F Review

If your child has completed all the Week 9 activities, and time allows, you may want to spend some time reviewing Week 8, which covered the letter F. However, if you do not get a chance to review Week 8, it is okay. Week 13 of the Letter of the Week preschool curriculum will review weeks 8 through 12.

Supply Reminder

Remember to look ahead to Week 10, decide which activities you would like to do with your child, and make sure you have the necessary supplies on hand. If you don’t have small stickers yet, your child will need a large pack of them beginning in Week 10. The stickers will be used on several workbook pages. They can be any shape as long as there are at least three colors in the pack.
