Welcome to Week 7 of Freedom Homeschooling’s Letter of the Week preschool curriculum!

Week 7: Review Activities

Week 7 of our Letter of the Week preschool curriculum focuses on review. This week reviews letters A through E and numbers zero through four.

 

Review Activities: Day 1

  • Watch Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, sing along, and do the motions.
  • Review the letter A on Starfall. On each screen of this interactive activity, your child will need to click the letter A, wait for the animation to play, or complete the activity to get the green arrow to appear. Then, he/she will click the green arrow to go to the next screen.
  • Remind your child that the way we write a lowercase A looks different from how letter As usually look in books and on computers. Show him the image below or examples in a book.
  • On workbook page 31, have your child trace and write the letter As on the left side of the worksheet. Then, read the instructions on the right side of the worksheet to him and help as needed.
  • Watch Dr. Seuss’s ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book!
  • Watch The Ants Go Marching and sing along while marching in place.
  • Optional: Do one of the Week 2 additional activities you didn’t get to, or repeat a favorite activity. The activities are near the bottom of Week 2’s page.

Review Activities: Day 2

  • Watch ABC Song Speeding Up and sing along.
  • Review the letter B on Starfall. On each screen of this interactive activity, your child will need to click the letter B, wait for the animation to play, or complete the activity to get the green arrow to appear. Then, he/she will click the green arrow to go to the next screen.
  • On the left side of workbook page 32, have your child trace and write the letter B. (Don’t do the right side of the worksheet yet.)
  • Watch Momma Clay read Berenstains’ B Book by Stan and Jan Berenstain.
  • Watch Here is the Beehive and sing along.
  • Have your child count the bees and trace the numbers on the right side of workbook page 32.
  • Optional: Do one of the Week 3 additional activities you didn’t get to, or repeat a favorite activity. The activities are near the bottom of Week 3’s page.

Review Activities: Day 3

  • Watch ABC Song Speeding Up and sing along.
  • Review the letter C on Starfall. On each screen of this interactive activity, your child will need to click the letter C, wait for the animation to play, or complete the activity to get the green arrow to appear. Then, he/she will click the green arrow to go to the next screen.
  • On workbook page 33, have your child trace and write the letter C. Then have your child trace the numbers in the caterpillar. He may also want to color the caterpillar.
  • Watch Mike Berenstain read C is for Clown by Jan and Stan Berenstain.
  • Do Pat-a-Cake.
  • Optional: Do one of the Week 4 additional activities you didn’t get to, or repeat a favorite activity. The activities are near the bottom of Week 4’s page.

Review Activities: Day 4

  • Watch ABC Song Speeding Up and sing along.
  • Review letter D on Starfall. On each screen of this interactive activity, your child will need to click the letter D, wait for the animation to play, or complete the activity to get the green arrow to appear. Then, he/she will click the green arrow to go to the next screen.
  • On workbook page 34, have your child color the duck, and trace and write the letter D.
  • Watch Hey Diddle Diddle and sing along.
  • Watch Ryan and Craig read Go, Dog, Go! by P.D. Eastman.
  • Optional: Do one of the Week 5 additional activities you didn’t get to, or repeat a favorite activity. The activities are near the bottom of Week 5’s page.

 

Review Activities: Day 5

  • Watch ABC Song Speeding Up and sing along.
  • Review the letter E on Starfall. On each screen of this interactive activity, your child will need to click the letter E, wait for the animation to play, or complete the activity to get the green arrow to appear. Then, he/she will click the green arrow to go to the next screen.
  • Watch One Elephant Went Out to Play and sing along.
  • On workbook page 35, have your child trace and write the letter E and color the elephants. Ask your child which elephant is big and which is little. Also, ask him to point to the uppercase E and the lowercase E.
  • Read A Tale of Two Little Engines as told by Marc Buchanan to your child. You will find the book listed under “2nd and 3rd Grade Books.” It’s a PDF download.
  • Optional: Do one of the Week 6 additional activities you didn’t get to, or repeat a favorite activity. The activities are near the bottom of Week 6’s page.
