Free Complete Language Arts Curriculum

The free homeschool complete language arts curriculum on this page is listed alphabetically. These options include all (or most) of the components of a language arts program in one curriculum. This will usually include grammar, composition, reading, spelling, and sometimes other topics as well. Each complete language arts curriculum has a suggested grade range next to its title. All the Christian resources are labeled with a “C,” and any resource not labeled as Christian is either secular or neutral.

Free Homeschool Complete Language Arts Curriculum

At Home Middle School  (6th – 8th)

This website compiles free materials from various online sources into a complete language arts course that teaches literature, grammar, vocabulary, and writing. You will need to purchase or borrow a few novels required to complete the courses.

Bookworms  (K – 5th)

This program integrates reading, writing, and language development. It includes lesson plans, PowerPoint slides, and a printable student workbook. While the program is free, you will need to borrow or buy the required storybooks or chapter books used in the lessons.

Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool   (1st – 8th)  C

All areas of language arts are covered- phonics, reading/ literature, grammar, writing, spelling, and vocabulary. Lessons are taught using a variety of methods and sources, including downloadable workbooks.

Easy Peasy All-in-One High School  (9th – 12th)  C

Courses available are Literature and Composition, British Literature, American Literature, and Advanced Literature and Composition. The material is taught using a variety of online sources.

The Good and the Beautiful  (K – 8th)  C

This is a complete language arts curriculum. The download includes reading, literature, grammar, writing, spelling, vocabulary, art, and geography, all in one course.

Lesson Plan of Happiness  (6th – 12th)  C

This website’s English Foundations and English Foundations II courses cover grammar, writing, literature, vocabulary, spelling, and handwriting. The courses provide lessons for 180 days and include printables and links to online activities. While the courses are middle school level, they would also work well for high school students who struggle with language arts or need additional reinforcement. (This is an LDS website.)

Letter of the Week Preschool Curriculum  (Pre-K)

Our comprehensive 35-week preschool curriculum includes read alouds, videos, and activities centered on each week’s letter. It also includes a free 185-page printable workbook. The curriculum introduces the letters and their sounds, letter and number formation, and much more.

Robertson Academy Books  (K – 12th)

This curriculum publisher offers several downloadable full-year language arts courses. The Learn to Read and Write series can be used either kindergarten through 3rd grade or 1st grade through 4th grade. There is also Middle School Reading, Writing, and Grammar for a Classical Education and Complete High School Language Arts Curriculum: Creative Writing.

Under the Home  (K – 5th)

Under the Home offers courses in writing, grammar, phonics, reading, prose, Shakespeare, and poetry. The courses are based on classic public domain books, including McGuffey’s Readers. Some courses include printable workbooks.
