Free 4th Grade Christian Homeschool Curriculum

Are you looking for free 4th grade homeschool curriculum? At Freedom Homeschooling, we list several free all-in-one-curriculum programs. These programs include every subject your 4th grader will need. Homeschoolers often choose all-in-one programs because of the simplicity they provide. They take care of the planning and curriculum selection for you.

However, many homeschoolers, including myself, prefer to choose a separate curriculum for each subject. This allows us to customize our children’s education, choosing materials that fit their learning styles and individual needs in each subject area. Also, I’ve always enjoyed the variety that a more eclectic approach provides. Using the same approach and materials for every subject can become monotonous for some students.

Below, I’ve provided a sample free 4th grade Christian curriculum. This sample curriculum is intended to give you an idea of what a free 4th grade homeschool curriculum could look like. Feel free to make substitutions as needed. If you have other children, you may prefer to study some subjects, like Bible, history, and science, together as a family.

Language Arts, Geography, and Art

The Good & the Beautiful (TGTB) Language Arts Level 4 covers reading, writing, spelling, literature, grammar, punctuation, art, and geography in one downloadable course. The course download includes the Course Book Part 1, Course Book Part 2, and Answer Key. It also includes the books Leo & the Lighthouse, Nettie’s Letters, and Whisper Creek. TGTB recommends using their free placement test to determine if Level 4 is the right level for your child.

For additional reading, choose books from our 4th Grade Reading List or TGTB’s Book List. You should be able to find many of these books at your local library. Or, if you prefer, choose one of these Free 4th Grade Readers.

TGTB doesn’t include handwriting instruction. For cursive penmanship practice, you can print worksheets and copywork workbooks at StudentHandouts.com. This website offers numerous downloadable copywork sets that include famous quotes, words of wisdom, history, Shakespeare, and more.

Math

The Simply Good and Beautiful Math 4 Course download includes the Math 4 Course Book, Math 4 Mental Math Map Mysteries, answer key, and access to the lesson videos. The course book is in a worktext format and contains 120 daily lessons. The included lesson videos provide the bulk of the teaching, allowing students to complete their work independently. Science

In Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool’s Physics and Chemistry course, your child will learn about the periodic table of elements, atoms, molecules, the states of matter, chemical reactions, light, sound, forces, the Three Laws of Motion, energy, heat, electricity, magnetism, simple machines, engineering, and more. The course consists of a printable workbook, readings, videos, online activities, hands-on activities, and experiments. The material is scheduled in 180 daily lessons. Easy Peasy offers this course at two levels. Your child will be in the lower level, which is designed for 1st through 4th grade.

History

In Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool’s Modern American History course, your child will study American history from post Civil War to the present time. The course is made up of a printable workbook, readings, videos, and other online materials. Your child will complete a variety of projects to demonstrate their knowledge of the material, as well as write newspaper articles based on events in history. Easy Peasy offers this course at two levels. Your 4th grader will be in the lower level, which is designed for 1st through 4th grade. The material is scheduled in 180 daily lessons.

Bible

God’s Hand in Our Lives offers 59 downloadable Level 3 (4th to 6th grade) Old Testament Lessons. Each lesson includes a teacher’s guide, opening and closing prayer, Bible story, worksheets, discussion questions, memory verses, and a hymn. If you are unfamiliar with the hymn, most of them can be found on YouTube. A Lutheran organization created this curriculum for Sunday schools. However, the materials also work well for homeschooling, and most of the content should be suitable for members of other Protestant denominations. Aim to complete about two lessons per week to finish this curriculum in one school year. If God’s Hand in Our Lives isn’t a fit for your family, check out Free Bible Curriculum for other options.

Life Skills

The Keepers Program was originally developed for use in clubs, similar to scouting, but also works well in homeschools. The program offers a downloadable Keepers of the Faith Handbook for girls and a Contenders for the Faith Handbook for boys. Select the handbook for 7 to 16-year-olds for your 4th grader. The handbooks also include a companion notebook and a guide for parents and leaders. Each week, choose a skill or project from one of the books to work on. You’ll find Bible study, finances, health, etiquette, serving others, landscaping, cooking, cleaning, first aid, safety, crafts, outdoor skills, academics, and much more. For a more well-rounded life skills education, I would recommend choosing some skills from the boys’ book for girls and vice versa.

Practical Money Skills teaches children basic financial topics like saving money, comparison shopping, and managing their allowance. Each lesson includes a printable teacher’s guide and printable student materials. There are only four lessons, making Practical Money Skills a short unit that can be completed at any time during the school year.

Computer Skills

Code.org’s Course E teaches visual block-based programming. Your child will practice coding with algorithms, loops, conditionals, and events before they are introduced to functions. In the second part of the course, they will design and create a capstone project they can share.

Typing.com teaches touch typing through interactive lessons. Your child may start at the beginner, intermediate, or advanced level. The program tracks progress and provides additional lessons for frequently missed keys.

Physical Education and Health

Easy Peasy All-in-One Homeschool’s PE/Health: Exercise and Nutrition course teaches the correct way to exercise and the importance of good nutrition. Your child will work on improving their strength and endurance. They will also learn about fire safety and a variety of disabilities. Easy Peasy offers this course at two levels. Your 4th grader will be in the lower level, which is designed for 1st through 4th grade. The material is scheduled in 36 weekly lessons.
